PROPOSAL: We should stop saying “frontier AI models”, because that’s so obviously just spin from an industry trying to frame themselves as bold pioneers rather then reckless tinkerers.
Instead we should say “untested” or “unproven” or “experimental” or the like.

Got roped into helping an elderly neighbour pick plums off multiple trees. Definitely didn't have time to do that, but it was really nice chatting with her, she let me pat her hairless cat (!!) and now I have probably 50 pounds of really tasty plums that I need to figure out what to do with (a very good problem to have).
@sundogplanets eat some, freeze the rest untill you figure out what to do.

@glyph Yeah for me "language" is broadly "the ordering of human thought into speech or writing" in all forms.
@mttaggart it is hard to talk about because the origin point for all their usage is still “language”. they write so many prompts. so many agents dot em dee. but it is … debased, somehow. the kind of thinking that goes into a prompt is distorted and bizarre. flaccid, careless, the perverse approximation of language that you get out of a chatbot is a strangely fitting reward for the perverse approximation of language you put in

Remember when they said they support multiple init systems but then went all in on systemd.
Remember when Debian was the universal operating system and had versions that ran on the FreeBSD kernel among others?
